New Lamp

Lamplight
I've had a thing for this Aidan Gray lamp for several years.
Alas, it's way out of my budget as all Aidan Gray lamps are.
It's also sold out.

But several months ago I happened upon this lamp at
It sort of has the same feeling.
A few days ago I discovered it was on clearance for $34.97.
Last night I found a 25% coupon online, good only till store closing on Wednesday at 9pm.
I immediately started calling local stores to find one.
To my delight, I finally found one at Norman and made a quick trip to get it.

But you know what?
I don't really have a spot for it.
I don't really need a lamp.
I was just obsessed with that Aidan Gray one and now I have a cheap knock off
that I really don't need.

I'm sure I'll figure out the perfect spot for it eventually.
I hope I don't regret buying it.

Here are other Aidan Gray lamps I love.

I don't usually buy things I don't need just cause it's a bargain.
Actually, it's my rule not to buy things just cause they are on sale.

Feeling like I shouldn't have bought it today.

Do you have buyer's remorse often?
I usually don't but am having pangs of it today.

Nita, never fear you'll find the perfect spot. It's wonderful and looks so much like your inspiration. Love the rest of those lamps! I need to update mine!

The new one is beautiful! Why don't you just rotate some of your lamps and work the new one in? That's what I've been doing since we moved and it makes me happy. :)

I just might have a lime green faux fur throw in my closet, that doesn't go with my house, that I don't need. And accidentally lost the receipt, and yes I'm having buyer's remorse ... but I fell in love with it :) Never fear, that lamp is so fab, you'll be glad that you kept it!

I would not be surprised if you'll find the perfect place for it and even think of a way you might change it to please you better.

Buyer's remorse? I remember a wild swirly colored expensive top I bought at the last minute to wear to a wedding in FL in July, thinking I would fit in with the tropical temperatures. Both my daughter and daughter-in-law told me they loved it. So I wore it and felt like a big green parrot the whole time. I threw it in the trash as soon as I got home.

Hi Nita, I think your lamp is beautiful and a good imposter. What if you stenciled the shade and added ribbon trim? That would give you the look you loved.

Beautiful lamp!
Yes, I constantly have buyer's remorse!
I have gone to several stores, running back and forth collecting pieces and then decide I don't want any of it!
I'll admit it.
I'm a serial-returner!

I always go to the lamp isle in shops even though I don't have a place to put another lamp.

I guess I figure if I find one I like better I could let a previous one go.... but yes, I had buyers remorse recently. Regret is a bad feeling! I imagine you will find the perfect spot for your new find.

What about stenciling and trimming the shade and painting the base to make it look more like the AG? Then I bet you'd find a place for it!

For those that asked....I am thinking of making over the shade and painting the base with chippy white plaster and paint. But I'm not rushing into anything. Right now it's sitting on a table in the living room and it looks good there but I have a feeling it's not in the space it's meant to be, yet. It was sooo cheap, I don't have much buyer's remorse. I just would have felt better about it if I'd needed it.

I've done that too...buy something because I fell for it in the store then
had no idea where it would go. But funny thing is a year or so would go by and suddenly I'm super glad I bought it because I have the perfect place for it.
You'll be glad you have it at some point.

No regrets!!! Stay cozy!

I think you will be glad you bought it someday when you are moving this and that to here and there. The light will pop on in your head and you will just naturally cozy that lamp into it's perfect place. Have a wonderful day!

I think if you work a little of your magic on the shade, you won't regret buying it one second and you'll find the perfect spot for it!
