Dining Room Inspiration

Today, I finally got a day off from work and I'm making things for my Thanksgiving tablescape.
Hope to show tomorrow.
In the meantime, I thought I'd show some of my favorite dining rooms from my
That one above is decked out for a sweet little Birthday party.
I want a birthday party that looks like that.
That will be my goal for next year.
I'll have to do it for myself but that is ok...I'd love to throw myself a party like that.
I love everything about this room even though it's got lots more wood than I normally go for.
Ok, I might change out the light fixture for a chandelier. Yes, I'd definitely change that out.
A big pretty mirror is always an asset in the dining room.
Wow! I love that table. Isn't it hugely fantastic!
I love how warm this room is.
The chandelier and the rustic china cabinet make this dining room.
Sweet little rosemary topiaries. Love that they have little twig trellises.
Love the wall treatment too.
Why can't I be simple like this?
I've been craving a simplified Xmas decor...
but I know I'll get all my pretty vintage stuff out again this year.
Ok, this is the thing I'm obsessed about currently.
That bench with slipcover.
I have a long ottoman like that in my office which originally was intended as footstool
and storage but it's just always in the way and I stack stuff on it.
It needs to go and I realized it was just the right height to be used as seating in my dining room.
A quick search of Pinterest and I found some wonderful examples
of slipcovered ottomans used in dining rooms.
I am so doing this.
Here's another.
I think it will add a softness to my dining room that the room needs.

Ok, I'm going back to my creating now.
So fun to be home on a beautiful fall day!

Nita -- such great inspiration pics! I'm loving that plaque above the blue chair in the last pic. I think I need one of those (and the knight to go along with it).

BTW, did you finish painting the living room? And if so, have you posted about it and I missed it? Or are you like me and a bit ADH and on to another creative project?

Wow, I took a break from work and checked your post and now I am scrolling up and down, down and up....oh so many wonderful inspiration pics here. I have been desperately wanting to get new lighting in our dining room so this helps.
I agree, that one pic, definitely the lighting would go and I think all the wood works because it is not an overly detailed space. It seems to have room to breathe?

Those are very pretty dining rooms. I'd love to sit down at a meal in any of them. If you throw yourself a party, I'll come.

Hi Nita, I'm loving that slipcovered, skirted bench too. I would love one in my bedroom!

Those pictures are fascinating. Love the large, ornate mirrors and all of the attention to detail in these bright spaces. So inviting, making any day feel special. Your table is beautiful - so well done!

I love all of your inspiration pictures. I am thinking of hanging a chandelier in my kitchen and dining room. I just love the look of a chandelier in both of those rooms. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Please don't leave your lovely vintage items packed away! I look at the simple pictures and sigh admiringly but then tell myself I'll do that some day. There will come a day I'll pass on most of my Christmas stuff to the kids and grandkids and then I'll only have pots of blooming bulbs and small green confers and a few satin ribbons and one Christmas tree instead of 3 or 4. But that day is not here yet!

I like that second photo, kinda loving the wood floor but I agree, change out the light fixture.
I like the one with the topiaries the best though, I think.
Every image is lovely but a tad bit too elegant for me.
I like your idea of slip-covering the your ottoman, although my Jimmy or Louie would lift their leg on a new skirt!
(wish I was closer and I'd throw you a party!)
